Fellow Alaskans, I appreciate your thoughts, prayers and kindness throughtout this past holiday season. Your efforts to support all of us is noticed and greatly appreciated. The members of my Eielson AFB based 168th Security Forces Squadron look forward to returning home to our family and friends and seeing you all. Thanks! ~~Carl -------, Major, USAF, North Pole, Alaska
Happy New Year! I've been rehabilitating from bilateral leg wounds for a year and a half, and I just found this site. Luckily for me all these helpful organizations reach out and touch you. hearts and minds! Thank you all so much for all your help! Having been working and visiting at both NNMC Bethesda and WRAMC I can tell you first hand that the troop surge is working and we're seeing a lot fewer warriors coming in. I'm proud to be an American these days because no matter where I travel people will go out of their way to shake my hand and tell me thanks! Thank you America from the bottom of my heart, without your support it would be an entirely different life for me and my family. I pray we see this through. The Iraqi people aren't much different than we are, they work in shops, fields, drive trucks, etc, and they deserve a chance to live in peace. Let us honor those who paid the ultimate price and gave their lives for freedom and see this through. ~~Michael ------/Cpl/USMC, Tyler
I am thankful for everyone's support from DC down to Celebs', and most important my brothers and sisters in harm's way at this very moment. May everyone have a great, wonderous, and safe holiday season. For those in the combat zone Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. ~~SSG ------, and Family -------, Jason/SSG/Active Army, Candor, N.Y.
I am a soldier in the United States Army stationed in Dexheim, Germany at this moment. It is around the holiday season and being so far away from home right now gets really hard. There are things you take for granted until they are gone. Things as simple as being with family and friends. It's not about the presents anymore... It would just be nice to see my family. I would like to THANK all the SUPPORTERS. It is truly great to know that we are thought about...That alone makes my sacrifice from home and my family worth something... We as a country are in this together and the more support we have the higher we hold our heads and stronger we fight. KEEP SUPPORTING AND WE WILL KEEP FIGHTING. THANK YOU ~~Grant Langenburg/PFC/US ARMY, Wolverine, Mich.
Americans!~ wow..I can't believe the incredible messages I have read so far. First and foremost I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity to sit here and still leave you all a message. I am currently in Iraq, serving alongside other American Soldiers. I can't begin to express the feelings that come from such support. We appreciate all the letters, and care packages we receive. A simple letter does more than you think! Especially around the holidays. Anyways...I would just like to say thank you and God bless. ~~------,SGT, Army, Camarillo, Calif.
Thank you all for your support. If you did not stand behind us then we would be doing this for nothing. Thank you. ~~Anthony -------/SPC/US Army, Hermon, N.Y.
We work at the largest hospital in the AOR here in Iraq and get shipped several boxes a week of donated items. We box up what we don't use for the patients and forward them to locations that don't have the amenities that we have here. Things such as clean socks, knit hats, candy, books, stationary, etc...that way we know it's going to a soldier in need. We do keep the majority of it for the patients coming through, or the soldiers serving as escorts or guards. ~~TSgt Lee------, Shreveport La
