The last letter we posted was from a member of the armed forces stationed in Europe. This particular individual wanted to express thanks for him and his fellow soldiers, for a donation we provided. Letters from soldiers expressing gratitude for the care packages and donations we send them do come in from time to time, and we're always happy to share them. Today, we have something a little different.

Recently, a citizen wrote to us. She wanted to express how grateful she was to the soldiers for the work they do every day. Because we are America's Military Charity, sometimes we get the opportunity to act as a conduit between the public and our armed forces. The following letter is from Makenna S., from Tennessee. If you know someone that's a member of the military, current or former, please feel free to share this message with them.

She writes:

To Our American Troops

I just want to take this time to thank you for everything you do. You guys are true heroes. I am honored to say I'm protected by you guys. I'm very sorry you all don't get the respect you deserve. I honestly would like to make a difference in the way SOME people treat you. You all are very strong and brave. To me you guys are the reason I get to go to school and get an education. You keep america free, and for that I am truly THANKFUL. Thank you for risking your lifes to keep us free. I pray that you guys make it back home, safe and sound, with your families, who I'm also thankful for. Good luck and honestly you guys are true heroes.
